I write music simply because I love doing it. Although I'm a Classically trained musician, composing is just a serious hobby I do in my free time, of which, unfortunately, I have very little.

I compose using Overture 4, with VST hosting, to prepare scores and edit all controller data. With very large scores I sometimes use Cubase SX to sequence the final mix, although, with my recently acquired powerful 3.2GHz machine, I find that I can mix down directly from the score in Overture 4. I'm honored to have one of my compositions listed as a demo on the Geniesoft homepage, creators of the Overture notation software.

I use sample libraries to realize my compositions, mostly Garritan Personal Orchestra but also EWQLSO. At times I will use brass and string samples from EWQLSO SE, but in my opinion, they are far inferior to GPO. Samples are incredibly expensive, and because I am not a professional, I stick to the library that offers the highest quality in its price range. Here, GPO is WAY ahead of any sample library and is comparable to libraries several times more expensive. Not only are the GPO samples extraordinary good, there is also a whole community of GPO users that support each other in every aspect, from technical advice to artistic support. It is the most incredible online community I've ever encountered.
